Short answer Yes... longer answer... No!
Wait, What?!!!
Terminology can create such headaches when it comes to explaining our product and the absolute best way to explain it is that Wool Fabric is a fabric that is woven, and Wool Felt is a felted fabric.
Let's dive a little deeper into the wonderful world of wool and wool felt, shall we?
These two fabrics may seem similar at first glance, but each brings its unique qualities to the table.
Let me take you on a journey through the fascinating world of wool fabric production. From the arrival of raw wool bales to the finishing touches on each blanket, every step is a testament to skilled craftsmanship.
Wool Fabric
First, the raw wool undergoes a series of processes including dyeing, blending, carding, and spinning to create fine yarns. Then, these yarns are meticulously woven onto looms to form intricate patterns. After inspection and finishing touches like fringing and brushing, the blankets are ready to bring warmth and comfort to your home. It's a labour of love that results in heirloom-quality blankets you'll cherish for years to come.
Wool Felt
Now, let's turn our attention to wool felt. Unlike traditional woven wool fabric, wool felt is made by matting and compressing wool fibres together. The result? A dense, sturdy material that's perfect for all sorts of crafting adventures. Whether you're sewing, needle felting, or creating intricate appliques, wool felt provides a sturdy foundation for your creative endeavours. Plus, its soft texture and vibrant colours make it a joy to work with, inspiring endless possibilities for artistic expression.
Now, let's explore the key benefits of both wool and wool felt:
So there you have it! Wool and wool felt: two incredible fabrics that offer warmth, durability, and endless possibilities for creativity. Whether you're knitting a sweater, sewing a dress, or crafting a masterpiece, these fabrics are sure to add a touch of magic to your projects.
Happy crafting!
Forever Feltfully Yours,
Candice
]]>One of the biggest questions I get asked is 'Can you clean wool felt', 'Is wool felt washable', 'Do I need to Pre-Wash my Wool Felt'. I'm here to give you all the do's and don'ts when it comes to washing your wool felt whether it's washed before your project, or accidentally gets dirty after your project.
There's a common myth that cleaning wool felt is a tricky affair. Fear not! I'm here to bust that myth wide open. Cleaning your wool felt is a breeze, and you won't need any fancy cleaning tools.
Before we dive in, let's unravel the mysteries of the mischievous foes that can cast shadows upon your cherished felt treasures.
Beware the deadly moisture
Wool Felt when dry is brilliantly resistant. It withstands the fiercest of beatings through our sewing machines, turning out the corners when sewn and stuffed within an inch of its life. However, when water or moisture is near it transforms into a delicate cloth. Storing in a cool dry space will be sure to reduce any risk of exposure.
The Pests' Menace
Moths, carpet beetles, weevils and silverfish pose the biggest threat to Wool Felt. I use Lavender and or Eucalyptus oils on wooden balls or beads in a container that has holes in the top - you might have to get the tools out to put holes in the container lid. Place this small container inside your bigger container of Wool Felt. Another thing we like to do is to go in and rough the felt up once or twice a week to reduce the risk of any pests making a nest in your beloved Wool Felt products. They don't like it when their home is destroyed and they will move on.
The Shadows of Light Exposure
Our wool felt is by no means fade-resistant and if anyone else tells you otherwise then I would be questioning whether it is 100% Wool Felt. Wool felt is animal hair, and like any type of hair, even your own, any dye may fade over time especially if exposed to a lot of sunlight or is washed in heavy chemicals. We will have some great tips below that can help you reduce Wool Felt from fading but in the meantime, try and reduce direct sunlight exposure or under heavy fluorescent lights.
Here are some very well-tested methods to help you keep your Wool Felt looking as good as the day it was purchased.
How to clean Wool Felt
For the absolute best results and wherever possible, spot cleaning is the best way to take care of any marks.
Embrace scents like Eucalyptus, Lavender, and tea tree to ward off pests and mosquitoes. To banish unpleasant odours or grease, turn to salt, vinegar, baking soda, or lemon. Combine a quarter of any of these with water. But remember, don't soak your product for more than 10 minutes, or you could compromise its integrity.
I trust that these detailed instructions have cleared up any confusion you may have had. Our wool felt products boast remarkable durability, capable of lasting many years to come. However, ensuring their longevity requires proper cleaning and maintenance.
Wool Felt offers more than just durability. They're eco-friendly, renewable, and hypoallergenic. Moreover, all our products are safe for use for both humans and animals. Embrace felt products for their environmental benefits. Should you have any further queries about taking care of your Wool Felt products, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

I am completely done with all this plastic in the world. I thought it would get better when my kids got older, but there seems to be more and more coming into the house. And they break easily too, such a waste of money.
So at the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair, I looked around the stalls and found this really awesome fabric from Whispers of the Valley Fabrics. My son is mad into grunge music lately so when I spotted these... I decided to make him a Quillow. If you don't know what a Quillow is, it's a quilt that folds into a pocket forming a pillow. I still have one I made in 1994, and when my son was as a baby, he used to cuddle up in it and put his feet inside the pocket.
I put forward this creative plan to my son, showing him the fabrics and to my surprise, he was SO excited! Winning! Best Mum ever!
It got me thinking. If my 12-year-old boy is excited about his mother making him a quilt for Christmas, surely he won't be the only one appreciative of handmade products this season.
Get on the handmaking bandwagon this season and feel the gratitude of giving something special, personalised and handmade. You just know it will be treasured forever.
If you're interested in knowing, here are the fabrics I am going to buy to make my son's quilt... this is going to be so fun haha!
At My Felt Lady, we take pride in our Wool Felt made from Australian Fleece, a process deeply rooted in tradition and expertise. Manufactured in Europe, one of the biggest felting factories in the world, our product is produced with modern technologies to optimise the process, add flexibility and, above all, fully control the attributes that our customers value and give our products the highest qualities.
Our wool is made from a variety of Australian sheep breeds, each with unique properties creating a product that is superior above all. The carefully selected blends are designed for product longevity, and confidence in workmanship giving you the best premium Wool Felt in the country.
So why not Merino? Merino Wool Felt is high quality, very fine long hair, extremely soft and incredibly versatile in the fashion industry. To be able to obtain the same quality and durability explained previously, more fibres would be required to process the same product, increasing cost and sustainability.
The dyeing process is by far one of the most complex parts of creating our Wool Felt. There is much that goes into dying felt starting with temperature, chemical control and using low water consumption. An interesting fact, the manufacturer has their own water treatment plant, being sure to use as little water as possible in the dying and cleaning process. So, with over 130 vibrant colours to choose from you can confidently say that your wool felt has been well taken care of.
Wool Felt is naturally sustainable, repels 97% bacteria and is completely safe for use in children’s products. It is durable enough to be sewn with tight corners and is pill and fuzz-free making it perfect for soft toys and especially heirloom designs.
Our Wool Felt products truly outshine the rest. They come with top-notch certifications to prove it. We have the UNE-ISO 9001:2000 certification, showing that our felts for technical applications are manufactured to the highest standards. Moreover, our entire range of felts is certified under the OEKO-TEX standard 100 product class I. These certifications are your guarantee that you're getting the best of the best when you choose our Wool Felt.
Stand with confidence in My Felt Lady 100% Wool Felt made from Australian Fleece.
We thank you for taking the time to read more about our product and can not wait to see what you create in your next project.
]]>Our stand was a little different this year as we were focusing on the love of creativity and the quilt from Wendy Williams 'Pieces of my Heart', really tied in our stand beautifully.
Plus I purchased a new tablecloth with our logo on it as well... to say I loved it was an understatement. I REALLY LOVED IT!
I want to thank the team from Expertise Events. Putting the show on with the beautiful quilt display is a huge effort. So again, thank you so much.
Next, I want to say a very special thank you to the following designers who have allowed me to borrow their samples for the shows this year.
Wendy Williams from Flying Fish Kits
Jodie Carleton from Ric Rac
Lauren Wright from Molly and Mama
Fiona Tully from Two Brown Birds
The products on our stand would not have sold without your samples and I thank you from the bottom of my felt heart for allowing us to use them for all the shows this year.
Finally to my beautiful team. Laura and Nic, you have put up with a lot of my ups and downs with doing these shows so I just want you both to know that I am forever grateful for all that you do. Also, a huge shout-out to my partner Brendan for joining us on the stand at Brisbane this year. Any man who can stand up all day long, with a flower crown on his head and felt teddies in his pocket is a true supporter indeed. Poor bugger even had his bum pinched too by some lady BAHAHAAA... that was hysterical.
It's the end of another year of shows, and it was truly feltastic. We have yet to book any shows next year but fear not, we have yet to decide what we would like to do just yet. We will keep you posted.
Here's a little video for you to enjoy from the event.

]]>You really don't know what it takes to deliver a magazine, so much planning, editorials, photography and much more. So I am still surprised we are talking about April next year and the fact I'm planning a project for then is crazy, but somehow not unusual.
I absolutely love our world of fauna, felt flowers are just my favourite thing to do. So it's no surprise I'll be doing something similar again.
I do want to share one of them though, it will be a small part of a beautiful bouquet, one I've wanted to do for a while, the Lavender.
It seems silly to share the design of this but the reason for this is that it's just so simple, you'll have a bunch whipped up in an hour.
To start with you'll need the following things
100% Wool Felt ours is made from Australian Fleece
Scraps of Felt. You can get these in our store, or if you are a frequent felter, you may already have these things in your stash.
To make one cut
Let's get crafting!
But wait, there's more! We're also introducing a stunning collection of beautiful sewing books that will ignite your imagination and inspire your needlework endeavours. From beginner-friendly guides to intricate patterns, these books are a treasure trove of creativity waiting to be explored.
So, my lovely crafters, get ready to embark on new adventures, infuse your projects with whimsy, and dive deeper into the art of sewing with our exciting additions. We can't wait to see what magical creations you'll bring to life!

Wishing you endless inspiration, joyful crafting moments, and a dash of magic in everything you create!

All I can say is... Oh... My... Gosh!
It is just absolutely stunning! With a quick glance at the pattern, yes I just had to get a copy straight away, it is incredibly easy, and you'll be whipping up one for every family member this festive season.
Her design is so simple and with her very detailed instructions, you'll have it whipped up in an afternoon.
In less than one week I've had the following questions from customers;
What is Peltex? - It's brand of stabiliser that is used to hold fabrics firm. Our Australian Version is a Heavy Interfacing which you can get from most craft or hobby stores.
Do you need to prewash Metallic or Glitter Wool Felt? - No, there is no need to prewash this product as it is already firm enough to hold its shape when using the Sulky StickNStitch
How much Metallic/Glitter Wool Felt will I need? - You'll need an Extra Large sheet of Metallic, however, you can get away with a Large and a Medium sheet as well if we don't have those sizes in stock.
Where to buy the pattern? - It can ONLY be purchased from Larissa's MMMCrafts Etsy Page. Let me tell you if you see anyone else selling her patterns you contact her or myself immediately. Links to this pattern are below.
Will you be supplying kits? - Yes very soon, we are trying to see if we can get a hold of a bead and sequin wholesaler.
Where to buy?

Why wait until the last minute to dive into the magical world of crafting? By starting early, you can unleash your creativity and make this Christmas season truly unforgettable. Here are a few reasons why crafting early for Christmas is a fantastic idea:
Let's talk wool vs. synthetics in sewing projects – it's a topic that's as fascinating as it is important. So, grab a cuppa and cozy up because we're diving deep into the wonderful world of wool!
First off, let's talk sustainability. Wool is like the superhero of natural fibres – it's renewable, biodegradable, and oh-so-friendly to our planet. Unlike synthetic fabrics that rely on fossil fuels and sketchy chemicals, wool comes straight from our fluffy friends, the sheep. It's a win-win for Mother Earth and your conscience!
Now, onto durability. Picture this: you spend hours crafting the perfect project, only for it to start falling apart after a few wears. Ugh, the worst! But fear not, because wool is here to save the day. This stuff is tough as nails – it can handle all the hugs, snuggles, and adventures you throw its way without breaking a sweat. Take that, flimsy synthetics!
But wait, there's more! Wool is naturally flame-resistant, making it the safer choice for everything from clothing to kids' toys. Plus, it's super versatile – you can use it for everything from fashion to home decor to DIY projects. The possibilities are endless!
So, there you have it – wool is the undisputed champ when it comes to sewing projects. It's sustainable, durable, comfortable, and oh-so-stylish. What more could you ask for? So, next time you're planning your next crafting adventure, make sure to reach for wool felt from My Felt Lady. Trust me, your projects will thank you later!
Here are some tools to get before you start
Here's a step-by-step guide:
By following these steps, you should be able to cut wool felt easily and accurately for your crafting projects.

]]>How does it work?
My Felt Lady provides some of the largest ranges of DIY Crafts for you to start at home. Some come with everything, and some don't, here's why.
Every designer we work with uses so many beautiful products for their creations, from beads to buttons, from ribbon to ric rac, there are hundreds of different types of accessories used in every single creation.
Our main designers are Molly and Mama, Ric Rac, May Blossom, Fabric and Inc and even our very own in-house designs by My Felt Lady.
Our designers sell their patterns through a distributor that we purchase from. All our DIY Crafts are kitted in-house to the best of our ability. We do our best to give all the types of products that are hard to find to go in the craft kit, but often it is impossible to purchase everything.
This is why some DIY Crafts only comes with the pattern and felt with thread or felt and safety eyes.
However, you'll notice with My Felt Lady designed patterns we supply everything! There's thread, needles, hoops, wire and even small beads, we have it all based on what we are able to source locally.
So if you are ever interested in purchasing our DIY Crafts in the future, the absolute best way to find out what's included is to read the description on the listing, we will list everything inside the product, and also what isn't included.

]]>As we come to a close of a super epic year we have some important things to advise on our service and delivery over December 2022 and January 2023.
Order Processing times
Our standard processing times of 2-3 working days will be extended to 3-4 working days. This is to accommodate our staff having holidays and the care of our little children (yep... working mums do it all).
During this time we ask for your kindness and patience as we all take a much-needed break.
Express Post Services
A reminder about Express Postal service. This is a postage service, not a processing service. We will continue to process orders within 3-4 working days. If you require your goods sooner, please contact us before placing your order so as to not be disappointed.
My Felt Lady Holiday
We will be going on a break as of the 21st of December and will resume on the 9th of January. During this period we will be working on a skeleton crew processing orders and answering emails only 1 or 2 day's a week so we can take a much-needed break.
Thank you for taking the time to read all this very valuable information. We are looking forward to some time off and spending it with our families.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from
Candice, Laura and Nic
]]>We were ready for action, we were ready for fun, we were ready for another brilliant show, but what came next seriously overwhelmed me.
Not one person and I truly mean this, not one person was unhappy. Every single person that stopped by walked past, or viewed us from a distance was just so damn lovely! And the comments on our stand, even on our clothes and appearance were just so beautiful. I was stopped several times every day about my white dress, which made me feel like a princess haha.
Laura and I want to thank everyone who supported our stand. From the bottom of our felt hearts, we are truly blessed to have such amazing customers in our lives. It makes what we do so worth it.
And again to the team from Expertise Events, you are the true winners here. With your hard work, attention to detail and amazing help whenever I needed it, we are very grateful to work with such an amazing team.
Shout out to Judy, Zac, Marianne and Jess, thank you so much for delivering yet another amazing convention and ending the year with the best of shows ever for My Felt Lady.
Next to the lovely lady Lauren Wright from Molly and Mama. Having you on our stand for two days was so damn fun! We will definitely be doing this again that's for sure. Lauren shared her tips and tricks for using the freezer paper method and created some stunning felt flowers. If you want to learn I implore you, please head over to her website Molly and Mama and sign up to her newsletters and sign up to her newsletters and stitch club. You'll absolutely love her work.
And to our Feltastic designers. Fiona Tully from Two Brown Birds, thank you very much for loaning us your samples. We are so excited to have you on board this year and all of your products were a huge hit and a sell out too! If anyone wants to follow Fiona find her here at Two Brown Birds.
Oh, Wendy... Wendy, Wendy, Wendy. Thank you so much for allowing us to showcase your beautiful quilts on our stand again. They are so bright and beautiful that it really was a show stopper, making people come to our stand just to see your beautiful stitchwork. The Birdsville Quilt and Cushion including your Threadbooks were a sell-out! And I thought we made too many kits! Looks like it wasn't enough lol. Follow Wendy here Wendy Williams Flying Fish Kits
Finally Jodie Carlton from Ric Rac. You are our people. Just as vivacious, just as quirky and we loved having your little felt family with us again. They are more travelled than me! Tuesday Sewing Circle including your 'Is For' animal and block series are always popular, but what surprised us most was Frankie and Dee! They sold out on the first day! We will definitely be getting more of these in soon. If you want to keep up with Jodie's quirky fun, check her out here Jodie Carlton Ric Rac
One last thing. To my beautiful girls, my staff. Laura and Nic you really raised the bar this year with all the shows we did, all the felt we rolled, and all the kits we made. So much work goes into preparing for the show and without you, we wouldn't have had one of the biggest shows ever.
Phew, I was able to write all this without breaking into a teary mess lol.
Well, what a feltastic year for shows. We will be back again in 2023 at the following events
I'm on my way to the airport and all I can think is 'I hope I don't look stupid trying to check in', I'm not kidding HAHA. I mean with all this new technology when you're flustered, unsure and anxious you can do silly things. Thankfully I didn't look like a noob, but I still had no idea how to check in... at least there are some beautiful people out there, I had help (insert silly wavy hand dance).
Settled in, set belt on, tray in the upright position and I felt like a Michael Bublé song. You know the one, "Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life, and I'm felling good". Yes, I always have a song in my head depicting the moment that's currently in play. Anyway, the flight was great, finding a taxi was seamless and I was checking in ready for a good nights rest to set up my stand the next day.
I was in walking distance to Sydney Showgrounds to the Dome, so it was a pleasant start to the day. Everything in place, all my stock had arrived and all I had to do was set up.
At this point you're thinking something surely had gone wrong, but guess what... with all the good vibe energy I had going on, nothing could touch me.
The stand set up was great, my neighbours were freaking amazing and I had all the time in the world to perfect my beautiful products on display.
One thing I should mention is the most beautiful, talented, vivacious Wendy Williams. I was so lucky to have her beautiful quilts to display on my stand. We had Beautiful Blooms, Oh Christmas Tree, Birdsville Quilt and Flocks by Night. My goodness they are just SO beautiful.
Along with the quilt show stoppers we had gorgeous samples from Jodie Carlton, Ric Rac and delightfully stunning creations from Lauren Wright, Molly and Mama. We were set to go big or go home. And go big we did!
Every single day was different. I was sure that I knew the pattern of the days, which one would be busier, but that was not the case. It didn't matter what we showed on our stand, or what we planned for, the customers who visited us had a ball. And so did we.
One of our biggest sellers were Wendy's patterns along with Lauren's Beaded Baubles Christmas Ornaments. And I wont forget to mention Jodie's 'Is For' series, all the Alphabet animals, especially the Fox and the Koalas, we didn't have enough!
But one thing I didn't expect were the token pets visiting! I thought one of the beautiful little fur babies was a soft toy until it looked at me. He was so damn cute.
I think some of the wonderful things you can expect when you attend these craft conventions is not just the wonderful shopping you can do, there are amazing exhibits as well as guest artists for you to visit as well. I had the opportunity to visit the New South Wales Embroiders Guild and my goodness it was just stunning. They had a wall filled with streams of different coloured shades of leaves made from fabric, and the idea and design was just so simple. The floral arrangements and high tea cupcakes and treats were just amazing.
If these conventions happen in your major city I really do implore you to go and check it out, especially now that you can get free entry!
Yep, you read that correctly. Expertise Events also known as IntoCraft have now offered free entry into all their major craft conventions for the rest of the year. So if you are going to Brisbane in October, you'll expect to pay nothing to get in, giving you more spending money as well! Win Win!
My overall experience of the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair was awesome, the team from Expertise Events were nothing but amazing and to all the other exhibitors who surrounded me, thank you for your banter and fun loving nature, it was truly fulfilling experience. I'll definitely be back again next year.
Our next show will be in Brisbane for the Craft and Quilt Fair in October from the 12th to the 16th, 5 fun filled days of Laura and I prancing around, showing off our beautiful stock and having a good time.
Please hold of from ordering your ticket just yet as the site still has the ticket prices on there, but they will be free, I'll keep you posted as to when they change this. But in the mean time, put it in your calendar!
Cant wait to see you all there!
]]>Firstly, make sure you have a good pair of scissors that are at least 5" long, any longer and it's just too hard to get into tight corners.
There are many good scissors out there and to be honest at the very least you'll want a pair that is easy to open and close and is comfortable in your hands. Everyone is different so be sure to try a few out to see which best works for you.
The few brands that I've enjoyed so far are Frisckars and Kai, both have 5" sized scissors in different styles. A good patchwork shop will allow you to try them out before you buy if possible.
I'm really into my Kai 5" N5135 Scissors, they are perfect and are easy to open and close when cutting, which is a huge deal to me. If it's too tight, then you'll be so sore by the time you finish all of your cutting.
Check out my video here with a quick demonstration cutting wool felt with my Friskars scissors. These are great, but I find for me the handle is just a little too small for my big, long fingers.
Soon we will be selling these in our store, but I do recommend trying before you buy too if possible. If you are near a craft convention with me throughout the year, come and pop by and you can have a go at my scissors.
We hope to bring you more tips like this in the future, so please feel free to ask me anything, we would love to include our customers in our journey to good crafting.
Have a feltastic day!
Lots of heartfelt love
Candice xo

Now Lady Laura and I didn't want to share these with you without having a secret play with them ourselves first. So we hit the internet and found a few simple free clip art pictures AND a beautiful design on the Brother ScanNCut CanvasWorkspace Pattern Collections and created these masks and crowns for our little ones.
PS, my boy in the Hulk Mask is such a nutter lol. A short disclaimer about the masks, for obvious reasons I can not share how we made these, but I can tell you that we scanned a free clip art online into the ScanNCut machine, cut them out and glued them together, it was SOOOO easy!
As for the crowns, it was a free project on the Brother ScanNCut CanvasWorkspace free Pattern Collection. We used a different colour standard Wool Felt in the centre and placed florist wire in the points to create the curved crown. However I do wish I had bent them and glued them first before it dried which created the ripples in the bend, BUT still, how cute are they!
Be one of the first to get these in to try them out!
I'd LOVE your feedback, I totally adore them but don't forget to share with me what you think of these new beauties.
Thanks Lovely People!!!
Have A Glorious Crafty Day

]]>Earlier this year I acquired the newest innovative cutting machine in the hobby world, the Brother ScanNCut SDX1200. Leading the industry in precision cutting and opening the craft world to design, draw and embossing, this recent model is certainly setting the hobby craft bar to new levels.
I can not tell you how excited I was when this beauty turned up. I mean seriously, you should have seen my face when it arrived.....
And that's not all! The ScanNCut SDX series is AUTOMATIC! You read correctly, it can now cut ALL your materials without having to input any settings with its new blade sensor technology. This had me perplexed at first, but it sure showed me off! Placing my delicate Wool Felt into the machine I waited with bated breath and viola, out came perfectly, precision cut, delicious Wool Felt shapes.
Ah, the serenity. It's SO wonderful to see how this machine works. Plus I was absolutely surprised by how quiet it was. The DX shows off its delicate loading and cutting functions with its whisper quiet feature now making the ScanNCut DX series more appealing.
Next I absolutely Love the new storage compartments and Utilities Holder. Believe me when I say this... I LOOSE MY STYLUS ALL THE TIME! Now I have a little holder I have trained myself to put it in each time I have finished using it... nice!
If you have ever wondered if this machine is for you, I guess firstly ask yourself these few questions.
How much hand cutting do I actually do?
A. A little
B. A lot
C. More than I can count
Do I use tear away or wash away papers to embroider designs onto fabric or Wool Felt?
A. Sometimes
B. Quite a bit
C. All the time
How many templates am I creating to cut shapes onto Wool Felt or fabric?
A. Not Many
B. Loads
C. I have so many I have nowhere to store them
If you answered C to more than 2 of these questions then you should definitely take a closer look at introducing this machine into your life.
Here is a list of things that you can also do with the ScanNCut machine that you might not have known about.
YOU. CAN. MAKE. DESIGN. YOUR. OWN. STAMPS!
Enough said. Imagine making something beautiful and wanting to add your special mark for all the world to see. Well you can. The ScanNCut machine has a brilliant stamping kit that you can design, cut and create your OWN stamps. Now that is just SO cool!
The ScanNCut machine can create embossing by pressing a pattern into paper or metal sheets for either a recessed effect or a raised effect. Interesting??? Read on...
Yeah, now we are talking. Imagine making your very own sticker sets! I know many out there love using stickers in their planners and on their products. So make your own designs, print them out, and cut the stickers using the ScanNCut machine, BRILLIANT!
Another fascinating fact about the ScanNCut is how well you can integrate this machine into your normal crafting routine. Rather than printing, tracing, ironing then cutting I will show you how to use the Brother ScanNCut SDX1200 to do it all for you.
Disclosure: This may increase your desire to purchase the ScanNCut machine LOL
Here in detail is an example on how to input a pattern, draw and cut out your shape ready for crafting.
Please continue reading if you want to know about how to create drawing and cutting files using the DX series ScanNCut Machines. Their are a lot of words from here on as I have detailed specific instructions on how to do this. Some may not be interested, but I know many have asked me how to do this. So continue to read on or if you like, why not check out my latest product... 100% Wool Felt By The Meter! Just when you thought you had enough lol.
Firstly here are a few tools to have on your computer before you start. Not all of them is a requirement, however I love using these tools since that is what I have started with and I found they work well. I will share both the computer pattern transfer file steps in Brother CanvasWorkspace and the ScanNCut Scanning function Cut To File steps.
Firstly install InkScape. This tool is best used for turning PDF Pattern Files into SVG File and it's free. An SVG File is what you'll need if you have a PDF pattern to import onto the ScanNCut machine.
Next install Brother CanvasWorkspace and follow the setup guide for connecting your computer to your ScanNCut machine using the guides provided.
To change the PDF file into an SVG open the InkScape program and follow these steps
Open CanvasWorkspace
Now you are a FCM File Creating Master (see what I did there...) collect your materials and start Drawing and Cutting! What's cool about this is that you don't even have to do a certain one first! Leaving the material on your mat you can Draw then Cut, Or Cut then Draw!
I would detail them here however since the Brother ScanNCut Manual is super detailed with pictures and helpful hints, I'll direct you to where you can locate this information instead.
Brother ScanNCut SDX User Manual
If you are a master ScanNCut user I'm sure you'll be off to the cutting machine now and getting some serious craft on, but if you are a ScanNCut Virgin then please stay tuned to the next Blog on the ScanNCut SDX where we will be cutting out the files we created. I'll be using one of the very popular patterns by Larissa Holland from MMMCrafts, from her 12 Day's of Christmas sets. If you want to have a quick look at how it's going, check out some of the clips and photos on Instagram. Here's one to get you started...
Phew! That was fun!
See you all next time Beautiful Felt People!
xxx Candice
** Some PDF Files are not professionally digitised. You'll notice this by seeing if the lines of the pattern shapes have been hand drawn or if the file you have saved and tried to open on the ScanNCut CanvasWorkspace does not show up.
One day, when all hope was lost something amazing happened... My Felt Lady started to cut.... and this is what it became.
Quelting, Quilling with Wool Felt. Quilling it is a stunning craft project used by cutting or purchasing pre-cut narrow strips of paper and rolling it into beautiful spirals creating the most charming pieces. Using Wool Felt instead of paper you can now create the same thing giving it a beautiful textured look and feel. Here's another I created yesterday, it's getting cold so it was only fitting.
Since many online pages offer free or paid Quilling patterns I wont have the versions I made for legal reasons. But to get you started below is a quick tutorial to show you how to roll and shape your fine felt strips.
What you'll need
For those who are not familiar with quilling shapes, here is a quick guide.
Courtesy of thepaperycraftery.com
Once you have created all the desired shapes, it's time to assemble.
Using small amounts of glue, place your shapes together either on their own like the snowflake, or glue to the printed card stock like the tree of life.
I have found many beautiful designs online to try out, many free and some paid. Quilling is a beautiful way to make something quick and small.
Use them on headbands, bracelets or even rings. Place on a stick and create a delicious candy cane! The ideas are endless.
I wouldn't recommend using any other material other than 100% Wool Felt, or you will end up in a hot sticky mess when pressing shapes with your mini iron.
If you hare having trouble creating the coils, pop online to find Quilling tools or use some pins to help you get started.
If you find that your coils are unravelling, place some glue on inside the coil as you are turning, this will help keep it together.
I hope you've enjoyed this new craft idea. The Felt Scraps in your home are going to be put to a fabulous new usage.
If you are looking to purchase some of My Felt Lady Scraps, see below for what's available now.
My Felt Lady Scraps are mostly very long strips ranging from 1" to 3" wide. These are perfect for this project.
Check out the Scrap Packs online now to get your next Quelting project started.
Thanks for Reading and I hope you have a Feltabulous Crafty Day!

Gingermelon is one of my many favourite designers with her quirky designs and stunning stitch work. Many have been very popular amongst My Felt Lady customers and this one is no exception. Snuggle Bunny and Kitty is a FREE tutorial you can find over on Gingermelons Blog. My suggestion of colours for creating these adorable duo is Honeydew, Cashmere, Latte, Soft Celeste and Mint
Lauren and I have been friends and fellow sewers for many years now and I just absolutely adore her designs. Her sweet and adorable sewing patterns are perfect for a quiet relaxing afternoon in your favourite couch. This particular one is called Bitty Bunny Necklaces, the bunny is approximately 2.5" tall and can be sewn with your small felt scraps. The delicious colours she has used here are Strawberry, White, Papaya, Mint, Granny Smith Apple, Beige Skin and Bubblegum.
Be Still my Felting Heart! This is just to sweet! I came across LovingLingZ this one day whilst searching for felt patterns on Etsy and this little one took my breath away. Quite and adorable this cute little bunny would be the favourite of any little girl. Felt used for this cutie is White, Stone Grey or Grey.
GAH! It's just too much!
Now if you loved my version of the Bethlehem Nativity Scene by Noia Land then you'll be thrilled to find she has the cutest Easter House too! This gorgeous creation is just perfect to place all the Easter goodies inside. There are many colours used for this felt creation and for the main sections of the house I would use Marzipan, Pink Sherbet, Spring Leaf and White with the delicious Easter Season Rainbow Collection.
Yes you may have noticed I'm a little obsessed with Lauren's Creations but who can blame me! Her newest design Rosie Rabbit is just absolutely adorable and super quick to make. This design can be used to hang up as a decoration or used as a clip or broach as well. I had created one myself, but as usual my beautiful Miss T has claimed it and is currently being used on her school bag. The colours I would use in this creation are White as the main, and for the accents Bubblegum, Apricot and Baby Blue.
OH and don't forget not only can you purchase the PDF directly from Lauren's Etsy page but for a limited time only you can buy the complete kit from my store here. Rosie Rabbit Complete Die Cut Kit and Accessories
With all these adorable creations to make you'll surely have some very happy children on Easter Morning with something they can cherish forever.
For more colour ideas these packs are also perfect for each of these Easter Crafts. Head online to view these and many more ideas for your crafts this season.
Thanks again for taking the time to read. I hope you have a gorgeous crafty day ahead of you now with all this delicious Feltspiration.
Take Care!

]]>In This Christmas Issue
I can't believe it, December already! Just when I thought I had at least a few more weeks left, all of a sudden... BAM! I've been smacked with tinsel and jingle bells.
I'm not worried, really I'm not. I mean I still have time to travel 2 hours to do Christmas Shopping right... BAM! The kids have finished school! NOW WHEN AM I GOING TO DO IT!
AH.... the online world... you're my best friend. Kids in bed, wine in hand, touch pad at the ready... BAM! Christmas Cut Off Dates! BAHHHH! More on that later.
So yes we have luscious fresh new stock just in time for your big Christmas Creations. This includes not only Wool Felt but Glitter Felt TOO! I've replenished Red, White, Black, Silver & Gold Glitter Wool Felt just in time for Santa's Cozzie and Boots. PS, I've never seen so much WHITE FELT in my LIFE! What in the world are you all doing with it! Lol.
This year to receive your goods before Christmas Day please make your purchase no later than Thursday the 13th of December. All orders received after this date will not have a guaranteed Pre-Christmas Delivery. Also, here are a few handy rules to remember when ordering this Christmas.
Take the time to read and understand this because I would hate you to be disappointed if you do not receive your goods when you are expecting them.
As always my online is open 24/7, even when I'm away.
This year I will be closing from the 21st of December to the 13th of January. During this time my online store will stay OPEN. It is an online store after all so keep in mind orders received during this period will not go out until the week beginning the 14th of January.
The Pre-Order 40" x 36" sized cuts of Wool Felt have been disabled this until the end of January 2019. This is because there is such a long time before I will be able to service this larger size and I would hate for any of you to be caught off guard to find out after the purchase that it will be February until you get your goods.
Last Thursday I pitched my dreams to 4 panelists. I have never been so crazy nervous in my life! I talk about things to you all every day but do you think I would be fine sharing it with a small group of people! BAH! I was a big scaredy cat!
My Pitch was to share my successes and my future plans and in the end I was the incredible 1st Runner up winner of a $2000 investment to My Felt Lady. I was so humble and honoured to be alongside some of the most amazing finalists, pitching their dreams and sharing their passions.
Thank you again to QGC, Shell, TSBE and of course the brilliant team from Business Navigator Western Downs team, Neil, Suzie and Mel. You have helped me with my dreams and for that I am truly thankful.
