Same Felt Lady, New Hat

Same Felt Lady, New Hat

November 10, 2017 5 Comments

I was down at my local Newsagency here in Chinchilla one day and when I approached the counter I was greeted "Oh, It's the Felt Lady!"

And It Hit Me...

I really was The Felt Lady. When you start something new you really have no idea how it will turn out. If you have been with me since the beginning you'll remember I used to sell patterns, buttons, thread, large doll needles all the things needed to make soft toys. Here I am 3 years later and I've gone from a small stack of Merino Wool Felt Sheets and a few notions, to yards and yards of felt!

It's crazy!

But I really absolutely love it. I love seeing all of your creations. I love waking up to tags of social media sharing your handmade beauties. It's such a great working life and I'm so grateful to have it.

Now I've opened a new chapter with a new hat and starting with The Felt Lady was soon transformed into

When I pitched my idea to the amazing and talented Kate from 5th Avenue Design Co I explained I wanted something that showed destination, demure and elegance. I know you are all familiar with the beautiful Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. After being transformed by the Professor he took her to the races. Eliza is dutifully and stunningly displaying herself as instructed and when the race started she is quietly saying 'Go, Go!' but then her real personality comes back out of her mouth screams 'Move You're Bloody Horse!' HAHAHA

I am no Audrey Hepburn, but I certainly do have a little potty mouth behind this face. Which brings me to my logo. The style and grace of a lady, but if you know me well, there is a little crazy lady inside madly crafting and playing with felt.

After opening the website on Wednesday and sharing the news on social media I was very overwhelmed with the comments from you all. Here is what some of you had to say.

Sonia Bochow: Congratulations on the exciting news! 🎉🎊
Kristina Baylon Alberto: Perfect name, very catchy!
Nicole Grigorian Nolasco:  ❤️❤️
Leia Barrett: LOVE IT!!!
Daya Jones: Love the new name!
Cathie Cindy Brown: Brilliant! I love it!
Meredith Gordon: Them: "Where do you get your wool felt from?" Me: "oh, just My Felt Lady" 😍😘
Naomi Gearon: So fitting! 👒
Susan Kotwas: I absolutely LOVE the new name!!!!!!!

Thank you again for all your lovely comments, I am so glad you love My Felt Lady as much as I do.

With changes there can be a few hiccups on the new website so please, if you do see anything I may have missed, feel free to let me know.

From your ever loving and crazy craft lady Candice xx

Hello, Enjoyed very much choosing some beautiful colours in your wool felt squares, but then so disappointed as France, where i live, is not included in your drop down postal destinations for customers, yet somewhere I think you said you do post to France. Help please!

Great name, I realised I say that when friends ask where I get my wonderful wool felt. Love the new logo. Congratulations.

Hi Candice, Great name change…huge fan of Audrey Hepburn in ‘My Fair Lady’…. so can I offer a little critic on the phrase she so famously said… “C’mon Dover, move your bloomin arse”…. sorry but apart from being such a strong, talented and famous woman who did an incredibly, amazing job bringing to life the character in that movie, I feel its massively justified to state the quote as it was actually said. Sorry to be so pedantic…Please don’t take offence..just my thoughts :) cheers
