DING! (insert light bulb turning on)

It JUST dawned on me. Another incredible thing you can do with the Brother ScanNCut.

I giggled a little bit just now, because I'm sure anyone who has one at the moment are saying "That's old News" after they finish reading this.

So here is my 'light bulb' idea.

Recently my lovely customers and I enjoyed a sewing night creating the very scrumptious Dimple Dumplings Creative Cards. In the pattern it required you to sew two small pieces of fabric together, press the seams open and then trace out the body template and sew on the line before cutting it out. What I've noticed as 'sew before cut' step. Now I had already scanned the pattern into the ScanNCut so I could cut out all the shapes which included the body (that was before I knew you needed to sew before cutting it).

SO in this situation you could still use the Brother ScanNCut for this step... HOW you ask?

Well did you know it comes with an Erasable Pen Set? It occurred to me that I could have placed the fabric on the adhesive mat and attached the pen holder with the Erasable Pen and used the machine to trace the outline of the pattern!!! I didn't need to actually trace the template on cardboard or paper and cut out the traced lines, THEN use that to trace the outline on the fabric.

This idea is going to be SO useful on nearly ALL of the softy patterns I sell online. And since I'm going to make a bunch for the markets soon, and it could cut down some time.

Speaking of the Markets, if you happen to be in or around Chinchilla on the third week of November please look out for me!
