Same Felt Lady, New Hat
I was down at my local Newsagency here in Chinchilla one day and when I approached the counter I was greeted "Oh, It's the Felt Lady!"
And It Hit Me...
I really was The Felt Lady. When you start something new you really have no idea how it will turn out. If you have been with me since the beginning you'll remember I used to sell patterns, buttons, thread, large doll needles all the things needed to make soft toys. Here I am 3 years later and I've gone from a small stack of Merino Wool Felt Sheets and a few notions, to yards and yards of felt!
It's crazy!
But I really absolutely love it. I love seeing all of your creations. I love waking up to tags of social media sharing your handmade beauties. It's such a great working life and I'm so grateful to have it.
Now I've opened a new chapter with a new hat and starting with The Felt Lady was soon transformed into
When I pitched my idea to the amazing and talented Kate from 5th Avenue Design Co I explained I wanted something that showed destination, demure and elegance. I know you are all familiar with the beautiful Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. After being transformed by the Professor he took her to the races. Eliza is dutifully and stunningly displaying herself as instructed and when the race started she is quietly saying 'Go, Go!' but then her real personality comes back out of her mouth screams 'Move You're Bloody Horse!' HAHAHA
I am no Audrey Hepburn, but I certainly do have a little potty mouth behind this face. Which brings me to my logo. The style and grace of a lady, but if you know me well, there is a little crazy lady inside madly crafting and playing with felt.
