Don't be a drag, get the right tools! My Felt Lady's Favourite Scissors.

Don't be a drag, get the right tools! My Felt Lady's Favourite Scissors.

It can be hard to find the right tools for the job when it comes to cutting wool felt.

Firstly, make sure you have a good pair of scissors that are at least 5" long, any longer and it's just too hard to get into tight corners.

There are many good scissors out there and to be honest at the very least you'll want a pair that is easy to open and close and is comfortable in your hands. Everyone is different so be sure to try a few out to see which best works for you.

The few brands that I've enjoyed so far are Frisckars and Kai, both have 5" sized scissors in different styles. A good patchwork shop will allow you to try them out before you buy if possible.

I'm really into my Kai 5" N5135 Scissors, they are perfect and are easy to open and close when cutting, which is a huge deal to me. If it's too tight, then you'll be so sore by the time you finish all of your cutting.

Check out my video here with a quick demonstration cutting wool felt with my Friskars scissors. These are great, but I find for me the handle is just a little too small for my big, long fingers.

Soon we will be selling these in our store, but I do recommend trying before you buy too if possible. If you are near a craft convention with me throughout the year, come and pop by and you can have a go at my scissors.

We hope to bring you more tips like this in the future, so please feel free to ask me anything, we would love to include our customers in our journey to good crafting.

Have a feltastic day!

Lots of heartfelt love
